Workshop on construction workers & GST

Nagaland Building and Others Construction Workers (NBOCW)Welfare Board training and GST Workshop organized by Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) in collaboration with Departments of Labour and Taxes was held at Hotel Japfü, Kohima on Wednesday.

During the first session, keynote address was delivered by Commissioner and Secretary Labour Department Anenla Sato, where she showed gave a power-point presentation about the importance of builders and construction workers.

Labour Commissioner, Nungshiyanger encouraged builders to register and contribute to uplift of our state as we are far behind from the rest of the country.

In the technical session, project officer-cum-secretary, NBOCW Welfare Board, T. Chubayanger said that the construction workers was one of the biggest industry, and therefore challenged the gathering to join hands with the department to bring changes in the society as most of the local workers are seasonal workers and need to improve working system. He also shared about importance of working timing, safety of workers, benefit of workers in various schemes.

NCSU vice president K L Setuo chaired the first session while NCSU president Pele Khezhie delivered presidential address. Prayer was offered by pastor of Rengma Baptist Church, Dr Kenny Tsela while Secretary Imsunok Jamir tendered the vote of thanks.

The second session on GST was led by Superintendent of Taxes, Orenboni and Yanbeni. It was followed by interactive session participated by the members, which was very beneficial.
